Orwell, the most southern town in Addison County, is a great little town with a vibrant town center of stores, a restaurant, bank, and elementary school. Local landmark Pratt’s General Store has been acclaimed as one of the best general stores in all of Vermont. Orwell is also home of Mount Independence State Historic Site, which is a Revolutionary War Fortification situated on Lake Champlain.
